The Deus Squalo (Translating to The Deus Shark) has the unattainable ambition to be a motorcycle inspired by the Citroen DS. On a Saturday in December, 1963, a genius named Bertoni created the famous “Shark Nose”. Armed with a hammer, some plastic and Plexiglas Bertoni’s Shark Nose has been a hallmark of the DS since 1967.
For our latest build the base bike is a 3 cylinder Yamaha XS750 from 1979 with cardan joint transmission. The bike is long and forward leaning, with a drop headlight and short tail. The pedals are positioned towards the rear, front and rear Ohlins suspension with Brembo front brakes all of which assure maximum fun to be shared on those fast roads.
The artisan work can be seen in a front aluminum frame supporting the head light with a fairing and Smith tachometer. The fuel tank and side flanks in aluminum are handmade with the leather saddle and the artisan short exhaust pipe by SC Project completes the work of art.
The lettering on the tank designed by Carby Tuckwell is inspired by the original DS font.

La Deus Squalo ha l’irraggiungibile ambizione di essere una moto ispirata alla Citroen DS.
Quel genio di Bertoni un sabato del Dicembre 1963 con martello, plastica e plexiglas creò il famoso “shark nose” che contraddistingue le DS dal 1967 in avanti.
La moto base è una Yamaha XS750 3 cilindri del 1979 trasmissione a cardano.
La moto è lunga, proiettata in avanti, con il faro a goccia e la coda corta. Pedane arretrate, sospensioni anteriori e posteriori Ohlins, fremi anteriori Brembo permettono di divertirsi sulle strade veloci.
Il lavoro artigianale consiste nel telaietto anteriore in alluminio per supporto faro, carena e contagiri Smith. Il serbatoio e fiancatene in alluminio sono fatte a mano, la sella in pelle e lo
scarico artigianale SC project corto completa il lavoro.
Il lettering sul serbatoio studiato da Carby è ispirato al font della DS originale.
E’ stato una forte emozione poterla vedere al fianco di una Citroen DS 2.3 I.E. del ’72 di un nostro amico e non abbiamo resistito a condividerlo.
